Lifelong Christian Formation Commission

Bishop Paul Marshall has appointed ten members to the newly formed Commission on Lifelong Christian Formation for the Diocese of Bethlehem. The Rev. Anne E. Kitch, Canon for Formation in the Christian Faith, will chair the Commission.

The mission of this group will be to support lifelong Christian formation in the parishes of the Diocese of Bethlehem with particular emphasis on children’s ministry and adult formation, to live into the Charter for Lifelong Christian Formation adopted by the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church, and to uphold General Convention Resolution A083 (2009) to formulate a Diocesan Strategy for Lifelong Christian Formation.  The Diocesan Missioner for Youth will be an ex-officio member of this commission, and the mission to support the youth of our diocese will continue under the Youth Ministries.

The Commission will be responsible for planning Bishop’s Day for Kids and other formation events, continuing the work of AWE Children’s Ministries, providing training days for Christian Educators, providing resources to support parish Christian Education and Formation programs, and supporting the work of the Canon for Formation in the Christian Faith.
