Sorry for the delay in following up on Karin's question. I was trying to find a link to the "A Theological Foundation for Full Communion Between The Episcopal Church and The United Methodist Church" document, which the United Methodist-Episcopal Dialogue Team produced last April. This is an important step toward full communion, ironing out potential theological disagreements.

I tried to find the document on the Episcopal Church's Ecumenical and Interreligious Relations web page and it wasn't there. I googled it and on the UM Portal website there was an interview with Ted Campbell (a member of the team) which said that the dialogue team commended the document for study and discussion for members of both denominations. But if we can't even find it on the web, how are we supposed to study it?

Tom Ferguson, our Ecumenical and Interreligious Officer sent me a copy but I don't know how to create a link to the pdf file, so I will forward it to Bill and see if he can a least get it on Newspin for some people to read it. (And perhaps study and discuss it.)

Other than that,I think things are happening at local levels. We will be having a joint Eucharist in the Lehigh Valley on All Saints Sunday, Nov. 6, at 4:00 with Bishop Marshall and Bishop Johnson. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Moravian-Episcopal service, and she seems like a wonderful person. She was signing the opening hymn as she processed in.

Karin, I will make Canon Maria Tjeltveit, rector of Mediator Allentown and Bishop Paul Marshall's ecumenical and intefaith liaison, aware of your question. I'm confident she will get back to you. Thanks. Bill

Can you tell me anything about the progress being made by The Episcopal Church and The United Methodist Church on reaching agreement for Full Communion? Do you know if there are particular issues that are currently problematic? Have you any idea of when this may be expected to occur
